Unique equipment at Magnezit Group

At the gas-distributing stations № 1 and 2 of Kombinat Magnezit JSC (which makes part of Magnezit Group Ltd.) there was installed a new unique complex for taking stock of natural gas. There is no similar equipment anywhere else in Russia.

Earlier natural gas consumption was taken stock of by measuring devices of SuperFlow -II type with precision class from 1,1 up to 2,5 % depending upon consumption. Due to constant growth of tariffs for energy resources management of Kombinat Magnezit JSC and of Magnezit Group Ltd. took decision to change for modern equipment for taking stock of natural gas which was created on the basis of ultrasonic transducer «Q Sonic» (Netherlands). Its precision degree achieves 0,6 per cent.

The new measurement system will help to save money due to reduction of unforeseen spending. Possibility to connect this equipment to automated information system of the plant management is an additional source of economic effectiveness. It will permit evaluate natural gas consumption in real time and after accumulation of statistic data on consumption it will be possible more precisely plan funds for buying energy resources in the budget of the plant. It will be possible to speak about economic results in more concrete terms only in two months as namely during this period it was decided to carry out parallel measurements with the old and new equipment.

Installation of new equipment at the plants of the Holding is done in the framework of large-scale investment program implemented by Magnezit Group Ltd. Investment program is elaborated up to the year 2010 and amounts to 6 billion rubles. Total investments volumes at all plants belonging to the Holding for the period up to the end of 2006 will amount to about 2 billion rubles. 1, 65 billion rubles from this sum will be allocated for development of Kombinat Magnezit Ltd.

«Today at all the plants of Magnezit Group there is a full scale modernization of production which includes technical re-equipment, introduction of automated systems and many many other things, — pointed out General Director of Magnezit Group Sergei Odegov, — Use of modern equipment and advanced technologies permit the Group to strengthen its positions on the Russian and world markets of refractories.
